# Should I build in public?

**Verdict: Yes** – Yes – with one specific number and one specific lesson per post.

> Yes. Building in public works because it gives your audience a reason to follow before the product is finished. Vague 'still grinding' posts don't compound; specific posts ('shipped X, learned Y, current MRR Z') do. The Soap Opera Sequence applied to your own founder journey – every post is one beat of the story.

## Why

- Real numbers (MRR, churn, signups, refunds) outperform abstract progress every time. The audience trades in operational truth.
- The same posts power three surfaces: Twitter/LinkedIn live, your /founder-diary archive on the site, and the founder-story arc of the Attractive Character.
- Don't fake transparency. The audience can smell it. Real failure outperforms fake transparency 10 to 1.
