Pre-event checklist
Landing-page publish checklist
The publish checklist names the eight things every indie SaaS landing page must pass before you tell anyone the URL. None are aspirational — each step has a done-condition you can verify with a tool in under two minutes.
Run before: Sharing the landing page URL publicly
When: In the final hour before sharing the landing page URL with anyone outside your team.

The 8-step checklist
Step 1
Read the above-the-fold block aloud
Read it to one person who is not on the team. If they cannot repeat the outcome in one sentence after reading it once, the block fails.
Done when: A real person outside the team has read the block and repeated the outcome in one sentence.
Step 2
Verify the H1 and the meta title match the user query
The H1 must contain the specific outcome a target visitor would type into Google. The meta title must reflect the same.
Done when: The H1 contains the outcome phrase and the meta title contains the same phrase, and both fit their length budgets (H1: about 9 words; title: under 60 chars).
Step 3
Verify the JSON-LD structured data
Open Google's Rich Results Test on the page URL. Confirm WebSite, Organization (or Person), and any product-specific schema (Product, FAQPage) render without errors.
Done when: Google Rich Results Test reports zero errors and at least one valid item type.
Step 4
Test the page on a real phone
Real device, not Chrome devtools. Tap the CTA, complete the checkout, read the confirmation email — on the same phone.
Done when: Full path completes on a real phone in under two minutes without zooming or horizontal scrolling.
Step 5
Verify the page passes Core Web Vitals
PageSpeed Insights or the live Web Vitals chrome extension. Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1.
Done when: All three Core Web Vitals are in the green band on the mobile profile.
Step 6
Verify the analytics event sequence
Open the page, click the CTA, view the checkout, complete a test purchase. Each step must produce one analytics event of the right name.
Done when: The analytics funnel report shows the four steps in order within five minutes of the test session.
Step 7
Verify the social preview card
Paste the URL into a Slack DM or Twitter compose box. Confirm the OG image, title, and description render correctly.
Done when: The OG image is the right asset, the title is the meta title, and the description is the meta description.
Step 8
Verify the page is in the sitemap
Open /sitemap.xml or /sitemap. The new page URL must appear with the right last-modified date.
Done when: The page URL is in the sitemap with a current last-modified timestamp.

Frequently asked
- Should I submit the URL to Google Search Console after publish?
- Yes. URL Inspection → Request indexing. Indexing is not guaranteed, but the request is free and the page is on Google's queue faster than it would be otherwise.
