# Should I build my own funnel or use a tool?

> Build your funnel on Next.js, Webflow, or your existing stack if you have any development capacity. Use a tool like ClickFunnels, Stan, or LeadPages only if you have zero dev capacity and need to ship a funnel this week. The patterns (Hook / Story / Offer, Stack, OTO, Soap Opera Sequence) matter far more than the tool you implement them in.

## Supporting points

- Custom-built funnels on your own stack are cheaper long-term and integrate cleanly with your SaaS product.
- Tool-based funnels (ClickFunnels et al) are faster to ship initially but accumulate platform cost and migration friction.
- The Brunson patterns transfer cleanly between stacks – migrating from ClickFunnels to a custom build later is a 1-2 week project, not a rebuild.
